It sure isn’t pretty, or anywhere near evenly spun……but it’s a start. Things I need to work on:

  1.  Pre-drafting the roving and NOT ripping the fibers in half.
  2. Getting just the right amount of energy in my leader – enough to spin the yarn, but not turn the strand into a kinked-up mess.
  3. Figuring out how to work the drafting triangle while pinching my spun energy. 
  4. Drafting the roving thin enough in the triangle so the spun yarn isn’t as thick. 

There is no instant-gratification to be had here, knitters.  There is a lot of technique that needs to be mastered, and that is going to require time and patience.  It’s pretty exciting, though!  ~J
