It sure isn’t pretty, or anywhere near evenly spun……but it’s a start. Things I need to work on:
- Pre-drafting the roving and NOT ripping the fibers in half.
- Getting just the right amount of energy in my leader – enough to spin the yarn, but not turn the strand into a kinked-up mess.
- Figuring out how to work the drafting triangle while pinching my spun energy.
- Drafting the roving thin enough in the triangle so the spun yarn isn’t as thick.
There is no instant-gratification to be had here, knitters. There is a lot of technique that needs to be mastered, and that is going to require time and patience. It’s pretty exciting, though! ~J
