Alicia over at Posie Gets Cozy has me completely hooked on cross-stitching. I just finished her Winterwoods sampler and my fingers are already itching to start another. Thankfully, she recently designed this sweet summer sampler, complete with red, ripe strawberries and a little bee hive!

This pattern is PDF only, not a kit, but luckily there is a tiny embroidery shop tucked away in a farm house nearby that sells the variegated floss used in the sampler. It would be nice to have a gallery wall of these pretty samplers in the knitting room, don’t you think?

The pattern is $6 and can be purchased in Alicia’s shop. Happy stitching!

Posie Gets Cozy just added this charming Winterwoods ABCs Cross Stitch Sampler to her online shop – and even though I’ve never done cross stitch – I immediately bought it. The little red mittens, the snowflake, the wellies and the coffee cup…the whole cabin in the woods theme will be perfect addition to the library/knitting room in the new house. Plus, it will be fun to try something new!

Posie Gets Cozy is one of my favorite blogs in the whole entire world…written by Alicia Paulson, it is one the few blogs* that I check on a daily basis. Her writing style, her photography, her incredible talent with fiber and fabric, her studio, her insanely cozy home…it is all so inspirational!

And for newbies such as myself, Alicia is kind enough to offer her favorite embroidery supplies for sale in her shop as well. Pick up a Winterwoods sampler of your very own here.  This weekend, be sure to pour yourself a hot cup of coffee and read Alicia’s blog here. Have a great weekend!

Sorry about the long absence…I had a week of kid-free bliss and went offline to knit, bake and have a few dinner-and-a-movie dates with my sweet husband.  And just in case you are wondering, yes, the gray sweater is finally off of the needles.  Tonight it will be blocked and then all that’s left will be sewing it all together.  I can’t wait!

Also, tomorrow I am going to cast on a little baby sweater, knit top-down and seamless – inspired by Alicia’s sweet version, seen here.  Her blog, Posie Gets Cozy is pretty fun to read – she makes the most beautiful knitwear and dresses for children; and she quilts, too!   Have a great week, all. ~J

…taking a break from knitting my Ravelympics project and baking some of this delicious Oatmeal Bread, which I found over at Posie Gets Cozy.  I am so looking forward to slathering some soft butter and honey onto a warm slice of this tomorrow afternoon…Thanks Alicia!

{Ravelympics Update: Although there are 36 more rows to knit on the throw, 3/4 of the ends have been woven in!  The contrast edging also still needs to be added, but I’m still hopeful that I’ll be able to finish in time.}
