It’s always so exciting when the new Twist Collective is released – I love looking ahead at the upcoming seasons, and I think as knitters, we can all agree that Fall is our favorite of them all. While summer lace knitting is nice, come August, I’m ready for a good strong dose of wool and warmth. Here are just a few of my favorites from this issue:
Gwendolyn was love at first sight – first, it’s gray, my favorite color. Then there are the chunky cables, the cozy hood – perfect. But what really sold me on this sweater was the ingenious use of kelly-green tipping along the sleeves, bottom and hood. The pattern is $8.00 and comes with instructions on making the pullover, as well as a cardigan version! I am smitten – this one is going on the needles pronto.
I loved the sheer prettiness of Kiloran, with its soft lilac and gray palette and its tidy rows of buttons. It is very, very French looking. I like how the wide band hits her around the tiniest part of her waist and then flairs out over her curves – so flattering! This would looked great paired with thick tights and a nice tall pair of leather boots. The alpaca yarn adds a beautiful delicateness to this piece, don’t you think? The pattern is $7.00.
Knitters, how gorgeous are these socks? Knit in a juicy, dark Amethyst yarn with ballet-inspired detailing – they are way too pretty to hide under a pair of jeans! Just stunning. And at $6.00, the Manolo pattern is way cheaper (and cozier!) than a pair of Blahniks.
