How adorable is this little baby sweater? I have two little babies to knit for this week and I’m still deciding which of the two girls will get this sweet shrug. I think it will be perfect for layering over pretty spring dresses, don’t you?
The sweater was knit in one piece from the bottom up, and the ribbing along the front, back and edges were added after the body was complete. It was a lot of pick-up and knit. I used the tried-and-true mattress stitch to seam together the sides and sleeves. It was easy-peasy.
This looks like it runs a little big, but that could also be because the pattern called for an Aran weight yarn, and I used a slightly larger worsted weight. There is just something about Berroco Comfort that I love for little babies – it’s so soft and squishy, oh, and machine washable. Because who really has time to hand wash sweaters when there are babies to be snuggled?
