We’ve been gone for quite a bit – we know – but that’s only because we have both been insanely busy knitting, sewing and baking for the big holiday this week. We have made about 8 dozen butter cookies, which the kids decorated with about 2 pounds of Christmas sprinkles:
Holiday wreaths, with tiny silver nonpareils:
We made my hubby’s favorite, Cheese Pie. It’s made with cottage cheese, which makes the most delicious, sweet custard when mixed with eggs and sugar and then topped with cinnamon:
We’ve baked 7 pounds of Chocolate-Almond Biscotti, 12 dozen old-fashioned spritz cookies, and a tray of Limoncello Squares, which will be topped with a dusting of powdered sugar and brought to our annual Christmas Eve party.
Today I will be attempting to finish the final outstanding knitting project, and Jaime will be sewing up some adorable Christmas skirts for the girlies to wear to the party tomorrow night. We will also be having a little wrapping party tonight – this year, we are determined to have everything wrapped before Christmas Eve. I envision lots of eggnog. And rum.
We’ll be back after the holiday with pictures of our projects – hope you all have a wonderful weekend, readers!
Merry Christmas, from Jaime and Jen
