I fell in love with this hat the first time I saw it, which was on the lovely Knitterella’s blog. It has been patiently waiting in my queue ever since, and with the upcoming arrival of my nephew-to-be, I finally had an excuse to get in on the needles!
Speaking of circulars…I went into my LYS (Stitches with Style) a few weeks ago looking for some Addi Turbo’s. Up until this point, I’ve only ever knit on bamboo needles, but I wanted to see if my productivity would increase on a smoother needle. The owner of the shop had a few Addi’s in stock , but not the size 7, 16″ circulars I was looking for. She suggested that I try the HiyaHiya stainless steel needles instead – she said she has been using them for two years and loves them…not to mention they are half the cost of Addi’s:
I love these needles! The yarn just glides off of them, and I find that I don’t have to keep pushing my stitches up to the top of the left needle as often. It was really hard for me to go back to bamboo after knitting with these – try them if you are looking for a wallet-friendly option to the more expensive nickel-plated needles. I will still get the Addi’s at some point, but for now, these are suiting me just fine!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ~Jenny
