Mike’s step-sister Julie (an AMAZING scrapbook artist, lives in Australia …) just had a beautiful baby boy and named him Ben. (I, of course, adore that name. But I’m a little biased!) And when I say just, I mean nearly four weeks ago. Oh, and I should also mention that I’ve known Julie was expecting for about 5 months prior to Ben’s birthday. In true Jaime fashion, I started the baby quilt the week before Ben was born, and JUST finished it tonight. I used the wonderful walking foot on Bernie. It worked WONDERS. (no offense to the featherweight, but it was a whole different ball game piecing this quilt together with Bernie!)
It’s darling and soft – sweet sailboat flannel backed with 12-inch sqares. Hand tied every 12 inches to give it a little extra something. Lined with Warm & Natural batting. When showing it to Mike he promptly insisted I make one “grown up sized” for us. Hmmm … that’s an idea ….
Additionally, Mom Jodie helped me whip up a few burp cloths while she was here a few weeks ago … we used the cutest little bug flannel. Just adorable!
Tomorrow I plan to work on a skirt or dress for Meghan … more to come soon!
